If it wasn't "over your head" why did you go through the trouble of mentioning in this thread a movie like Donnie Darko that is a completely different genre. It has nothing to do with The Cave at all, yet you just had to let everybody know how much you hated Donnie Darko.

I brought it up to show how people on this forum can have different opinions. just like the OP thinks the cave is the worst movie ever, and some people liked it, i pointed out I think donnie darko is one of the worst movies ever. if someone asked me about donnie darko, i would say the same thing as the OP .. I would say dont buy it, dont rent it, dont watch it, dont even talk about it, it sucks!

and i brought up that movie specifically because it gets so much praise on this forum. i was simply showing how people can have different tastes in movies, and as i expected from this forum, just because my opinion is different than 90% of this forum on the subject, it MUST mean that i am an idiot and didnt understand the movie.

Er, you pretty much agreed with him in your post. It was bad, and you both thought so. You just have a heavily vested interest in hating Donnie Darko, and you had to tell us about it... again.

i said it was bad, not horrible. if someone asked me about the cave, i would say its worth a watch once but don't expect anything great.

i mean come on, was the OP going into The Cave expecting a 9.0 IMDB movie? no, you know the cave is about a monster, a few people are going to die, there is going to be bad acting, in the end only a few people make it out alive, and that it won't be that great.

you go into donnie darko expecting a 9.0 IMDB movie since all the rave the movie gets, then get horribly disappointed when you watch it. again, thats why i brought that movie up ... because that is a movie that is SUPPOSED to be breathtaking when in reality, IMO, it was a horrible horrible movie.

the cave on the otherhand ... well if you even think its supposed to be a "great" movie before you watch it, then you were mis-informed to begin with.
