"I had seen this in the Packer Reporter, a limited-edition green and gold casket. Call Janesville," explained Smetana about the offer.
She paid $1,595 for the casket to Citadel Family Services in Janesville in 1998.
Smetana received a receipt that is was being stored for her at Spring Valley Warehouse, at the same Janesville address.
Now 13 years later at the age of 67, she decided to make plans for her family to receive her casket. She called Fred Angermann with Citadel Family Services, only to find there is no casket.
"We lost track of the unit that Mrs. Smetana bought," said Angermann. "A mistake was made and I'm sorry."
For the past four months, Smetana has been working unsuccessfully with the company to resolve the problem.[/quote
Uh, she has a receipt saying she bought the limited edition 'model'. The company lost the casket. I'd say they're obligated to either A) find it, or B) replace it.
Seems like a lot of griping about something that will be buried in the ground though.![]()
