The car I'm about to buy

Pending the sale of my current car.

Finally caved in - never owned a roadster before, so don't know if I'll like it or not. When I test drove it, the interior did seem kind of smallish but it did drive like a charm.

Edit: Having hard time selling my current car (C230 Komressor) so thats the biggest blocker. Has anybody had any luck selling similar cars on yahoo or autotrader?

Not a fan of roadsters, and definitely not a fan of the new Z styling.
You'll probably dig it, except the fact that you can't fit anything in it.

Sorry - I"m a wuss. Never drove a manual before (other than on my motorcycle), plus the area around me is pretty hilly. Don't really want to learn driving stick on a nice car like that.

goto dealer like Honda, and they will teach you how to drive stick if you tell them you are interested in buying s2000, but don't know how to drive stick.

i had the chance to buy from the brother in law a few months ago for $28K w/ 6K miles. had to opt out of it cause i just bought a house. the interior was plain jane but it was a fun car to drive.

A roadster is nothing if you let a mushy slush box change gears when IT wants to.

I disagree. I know C class gets a lot of bad rep, but I had nothing but good fortune with mine. Nice drive, nice interior. Haven't had any problems with mine either.

get a minivan then... theres ABSOLUTELY NO POINT in getting a roadster if you're getting it with a slushbox

Yep, you are a total putz. Don't waste the money. If you are set on buying an auto, get a Civic. You are buying a a 2 seat BMW for crying out loud.

To be honest, I wanted to get a stick myself - but I live in seattle where the hills are pretty bad so I was afraid stick would be a pain in the rear. But you guys bring up a good point - a roadster is no fun without the stick.

You are bound to know somebody with a stick just have them teach you. I couldn't drive one either till I bought one and had to learn and its not like there aren't hills in Wv.

Stick is easy, i guarantee you will pick it up within a couple of days. People exagerate about hills, they aren't that bad.

Especially with a car like that, stick should be fairly easy. Lots of torque so it's not extremely easy to kill it.

I learned on my BMW how to drive stick ('96 318is), it has 130k miles and the clutch is not even close to slipping, even with my learning on it.
