the cable betwen sound blaster live and its live drive..

Hmm.. okay i melted the cable that's between my live plat and the live drive.. and my live drive sort of... have some smoke coming out from it.....
don't ask me why.. i forgot ..
but anyway... it seem like to me that the cable that's connecting the live sound card and the front panel - live drive is just a regular ata cable
correct me if im wrong ... it seem like just a normal ata66 cable .. so i went ahead and plug one in ... does'n work ...
so i start to wonder... if THAT is a special kind of cable after all.. any thought >
 
I use an older IDE 33 cable without the safety notch on my LDII so I see no reason whay an ATA66/100 wouldn't work
