The business that is pro football. It sucks.

Back in the day, I could remember seeing 4 games on Sunday. Two 1 o'clock games and two at 4:30. THere wasn't a Fox sports channel and ESPN (for those that cable) didn't have a Sunday night game.

Today, in the NC market, I got one game. Panthers vs Redskins. The skins made it close and almost pulled off an upset. But what about the other games? Naw, NBC has golf. CBS has golf. ABC has racing. This frikken sucks.

I've written my little email to the local CBS station. (NBC doesn't have a contract with the NFL this year - I guess they blew their wad on that real market draw, Notre Dame.) I am upset that you couldn't find a football game to broadcast. Yeah, there might be a market thing where the home team game is not challenged by another game. But isn't that what free enterprise is all about? You put on a good show, the people will watch.

This really sucks. What happened to my Sunday football?

For those who have direct tv (you can't get this on Dish Network or cable):
Order by December 28, 2003 and get the rest of the 2003 season of NFL SUNDAY TICKET? for $169 or 2 payments of $84.50.

Ok, so on top of your basic fee, you pay at least $169 (more if you started the season).

So no more Sundays of "free" football.

I believe this is the first 1:00PM game that was pre-empted this entire season. In the Northeast Ohio market, we had Arizona at Cleveland on Fox at 1:00PM with golf on CBS. Right now (4:00PM), I can watch Green Bay at Tampa Bay on Fox or New York at Indianapolis on CBS.

Instead of 4 games, I can watch 3. And now we have an ESPN game on Sunday night at 8:00PM.

Bucs vs. Pack game on Fox now.

Yup. On now. At first, they were showing higlights to some show. Now the game is on. Whew! For a minute I thought I was gonna go outside and do something besides watch TV. That was close!

My buddy has the NFL Sunday Ticket with his DirectTV service and it is awesome. Football all day with virtually no commercials.....see a commercial that you don't want to watch? There are 5 or 6 other games on and it is very likely that not all of them are at commercial at the same time. So worth it.....it's the best.
