There -is- some truth to the article, no way around that. That being said, I just don't like the guy. The administration seriously creeps me out. This decision, that decision, so many of them just make me wince.

There's a degree of a parallel between Rip and Bush. Given that so many of the threads that Rip starts just make me roll my eyes or, in some cases, actually pain me to read, the few that have a little bit more worth (imho) are harder to distinguish.

Bush out debated Gore??? Remember his main tactic in the second debate on foreign policy. UHHH I agree with Clinton. Just about every question he said he agreed with Clinton's policy to keep Gore off his back.
GWB showed up at the debates and did not drool over himself. He managed to string two words together and the media proclaimed him beating expectations. This is the strategy of Rove to lower the bar so low that that anything would be beating expectations. The media gave GWB a free ride in 2000 because they love the horse race. He doesn't have that luxury anymore. He has been president for almost 4 years now, he really should try to know what he is talking about.

Certainly some good research. Still it seems like that stands out as a rare incident in a sea of disdain for all things Democratic. Plus, I think NAFTA sucks major a$$. Never liked it, never have. One of the many mistakes of the Clinton administration IMHO.

Bush is quite literally the stupidest president we've ever had. His embarrassing quips and speeches that we've all witnessed over the years bear a stark difference to the normal amount of tongue-twisters and/or mistakes most public figures make during thier stint in public view. You ignore all of it, and that's why you're a sad little partisan hack. You try to defend it, and that's why I can't take you seriously.

Bush didn't "mastermind" anything. He is a tool. People like Cheney and Rumsfeld and Rove pull his strings, put the words in his mouth, etc. They are the brains; Bush is the marionette. Bush was annointed by the RNC elite precisely because he is so easy to manipulate.
What do you expect from The National Review? Their Editor Emeritus is William F. Buckly, and many of thier writers are also frequent faces on Fox < gag > News < gag > shows. Now, THAT's a nutshell.

I love the fact that nobody is actually refuting what was said in the article.. most of the libbies responses in this topic are:

It certainly dosen't take a rocket scientist to figure out why people question everything about Bush. He has produced a secretive government, consistantly tried to mislead and deceive the public, practiced a hidden agenda, produced false facts and figures to herold his "successes", and often presented a picture of "not quite being there". I for one, can no longer take anything from this Administration at face value. Take the issue of jobs for example. If he says there are more jobs, I would need to ask: are the figures accurate, is he talking net gain and over what time period, has he classified making bugers as manufacturing, is he talking permaninent jobs, is the jobs gained times wages figure larger than the jobs lost times wages figure, are these jobs filled by American citizens, etc..
It's really hard to figure out if he ever does anything good because of all of the deceptive crap he hangs on everything he pronounces.

I think there is a difference between the Bush/Kerry hating going on right now. Most of the things we say about Bush have some substantial backing/factual basis to stand upon, and they are all on relevant issues. Many of the things Kerry is being bashed for are either not true, or completely irrelevant and insignificant to the Presidential race.
On Fox News, for example, Hannity (in a very serious tone) made Kerry look like he was a serious threat to our nation's security, should he be elected. Ignoring the fact that Kerry has no intentions to pull US troops out of Iraq, no intentions on cutting security measures in this country, and plans on strengthening our international relations. I mean, both sides do spew hate, but the right is just flat out wrong most of the time.

I'm not quite sure how to take your post since it immediately follows mine, but that's not what I said. I merely commented that the National Review is a hard line neocon source, which raises questions about its credibility on the subject.

It is not personal. People disagree with GWB's foreign and domestic policies. They think he is leading the US in the wrong direction. They do not want to risk having him in the White House for four more years.
Anyone going to address the topic or are the libs just admitting that they take EVERY issue and make it a negative regarding Bush? Regardless of what he does?
