I have the Pebble time. I'm very satisfied with it. But the battery life is only 4 days.

Question about that. Does Google maps notify the phone? Like when upcoming turn, will it vibrate?

I believe so. I'll try it when I go out. You can control notifications (enable or disable) by app. I like my Pebble Time overall. If I were you, I'd hold off a bit longer. The Pebble Time 2 is on Kickstarter, so if anything the Pebble Time 1 will be further reduced in price.

I saw and thought of that. But I used the orginaly pebble as standard. Orginal pebble is going for 80 and pebble time is 120. With the pebble 2... well it's probably going to be around 80 for the time.

I missed a pebble time steel last night for $80. I'm just on ebay now watching. I would buy the time 2 steel but God that a high price for it. I'll stick with old models at my $100 price point and pair it with my almost 3 gen old, Note 4.

There's an irony to saying the Pebble Time 2 is high-priced when the current Moto 360, Huawei Watch and aluminum Apple Watch start at $299 (or less, if you score a deal). All depends on how much you value form versus function, I suspect... well, that and iPhone users will have limited Pebble Time functionality for a while.

While yes there is irony behind that. It is priced well for people on the latest and greatest tech. But I'm the budget shopper and don't mind older tech. The $100 price is where I want to be on the watch front.

I bought the iwatch for the girlfriend well because that is her and well apples closed system makes plenty things hard.

I'll say this: I'd probably have a Pebble Time Round (or a Time 2 on pre-order) if I didn't have an Apple Watch. They're good value if you're looking for just the smartwatch essentials.

Was thinking of getting a pebble, but knowing the limited functionality of it, I'll probably discard it a few months later. Opted for the huawei watch for $249 which comes with a speaker so you could have a phone convo through the watch itself (via BT from the phone of course). That alone was the selling point.

I see the value in that. But honestly I wouldn't use it. I've tired to use a few BT headsets and in a few weeks it gets discarded.

Difference being you don't have anything around your neck or in your ears. I always hated that about BT headset. I've only been using the huawei watch for a couple of months since the latest android wear update and I can say 95% of my convos (which are a quick 2-5min) have been done through the watch. The microphone is actually very well made and the person I'm talking on the other line can hear me just as clear. I honestly would not buy another smartwatch if you can't make and receive calls on it.
