Why is it blue? why didn't they make it the RSOD (red), GSOD (green), or sometjhing?

Because then you'd ask why it's not blue.

EDIT : But all jokes aside, it was black in the older versions, it's red in the Longhorn/Vista beta's.

I've never had a BSOD in XP so I couldn't even verify that it's blue any more. Had plenty of them in Win98 though.
