Long story short..........

Boy has retinal cancer as toddler.

Has eyes removed to save life.

Develops ability to navigate clicking w/ his mouth........a la bat radar.

What's totally crazy is that he doesn't just "get by"..........the guy does almost everything a seeing person does!!!

It's pretty sick. Somehow he even plays video games!! But even if that's half-assed, his simply walking, riding bike....(they even show him standing on the seat of his bike & riding it around)........roller blading between parked cars..........playing basketball & making baskets...........it's just freakin' incredible!!!

What improv!!!!!

I might give up one of my senses to increase my other senses to superhuman levels.

He is evolving. Soon man will have no need for eyes and soon ears.

I'm kind of skeptical about his abilities.

If he could rollerblade, or play basketball through echolocation, that's perfectly believable.
But how the fuck do you do echolocation with TV speakers on a video game?
I mean, if he was playing with earphones with directional sound, surround sound speakers, or some kind of positional audio, yeah, sure. But TV speakers?!?!

The TV uses organic LEDs - except that they're organic in the sense that they're derived from cuttlefish skin. Each pixel can change shape to simulate what's on the screen. Primary drawbacks: It smells like rotting sushi, and only works for about 10 hours.

Those who lose one sense almost always overdevelop one of their other senses.

It's amazing. That guy rocks

He probably (definitely) doesn't use echo location for that, he probably just uses his hearing and has to learn each game based on the particular sound effects of each.

Oh yeah, he went to my high school. Yeah it's pretty trippy watching him walk around school before. He knows your voice. I didn't personally know him but I've seen him around.
