Tonight I was delivering to a private apartment complex - they have a liftgate at the entrance. I deliver there around 3 to 4 times a night, and have been for the past three years without a problem.

For the past two weeks - the life gates have been nonoperational and stuck in the upright position. Tonight, they weren't. I was in a line of cars waiting to enter the complex.

As usual, the gate lifted for the car in front of me, and they proceeded through without a hitch. The gate usually lowers after the car exits, then I would usually pull up and the gate would go back up - but this time it didn't go down after the car in front of me pulled foreward.....

I waited a few second, and it still woudl not go down, so I pulled foreward. Midway through, the arm comes crashing down on my car, not one time, but FOUR TIMES!!!! Now the Box has 4 dents where the roof bends to the side of the body, and a foot long scrape along the side where the arm DRAGGED against my car

I called and left an irate voicemail with the complex office, and said that I'd be by in the morning :| I really hope they pay.....

No, but the arms are getting ripped off like every couple of weeks. I've never had a problem for over three years - and I'd venture to say I go in and out more times than the complex's actual residents!

I figure - a car is a car - I should use it for what it was made for Besides - I pamper it, and it's a Toyota - keep up with the maintenance and I'll be fine
