Damn!! ~75 cents for a movie rental!! Cant beat that.. What kind of TV you got out there? The economic variations in different parts of India are so crazy you just never know what to expect. You could go from a village with no running water to 5 miles away a palace with HDTV's and cable internet...
Regular 29" 4:3 WEGA - will have to check the exact model number. Prices on Flat Panel TVs are still pretty high. I got three WEGA CRTs around the house and there's a lot of stuff I would rather have than another TV.
High-Def is a no show here - the only way you can enjoy HD movies would be to download them off BitTorrent. Considering how crappy internet connections are here ($20 a month - pray you actually get close to the advertised 384kbps speed), that's pretty close to impossible. 15-20 gigs per movie - I would be waiting all month.
I still haven't seen a Hi-Def movie - even the big Sony showrooms don't have in-store Blu-ray demos.
