T-mobile seems to be the cheapest at $49.99/month, and from what I've heard the coverage is half decent. How is Verizon? Is Sprint worth the $80 dollar premium you pay for it?

Locations to be used in are:

Louisville, KY area
Montana
All of South Texas

Verizon has coverage everywhere the network is... and they have one of the largest networks around.

However, their high-speed wireless access is only up and running in about 20 of the largest cities and surrounding areas-- so if you're not near a large city it's not the greatest.

Well speed isn't too much of a concern. This is for checking e-mail and using office documents over Terminal Services.

You need a bit of speed for TS.

I'd go for Cingular EDGE, if they have converage in your area.

So I just got off the phone with Verizon. They asked for my notebook model, which is a Dell Inspiron 1300, and they said that the PC card doesn't fit the 1300's PC Card slot. Since when do PC card slots come in different sizes?

What kind of PCMCIA/PC Card slots do you have? Is it PCMCIA I or II? If you have III slots, it should work with any of the 'lower' cards...

I'm sure it's either type II or type III. It was just purchased last week. It also has a mini-pci slot, which is what he might have been referring to...
