The market isn't in gigantic planes. There's a reason the 737 and A320 series are the best selling planes in the history of aviation. They should be working on making smaller planes longer ranged and more economical - oh, wait, that's the 7E7's goal. In Europe, larger planes are a bit more sensible, since more people engage in long flights about the continent (You'll never find a European that hasn't left their home country), but here in the US, the vast majority of our routes top out at about the capacity of a Boeing 737.
And I wonder how many of these orders include the shopping mall option that we were promised in 1996.
