The Bigs 2

man I dloaded this for my kid to play (and me a bit too). I dunno why, but it just seems EXTREMELY hard. You need reflexes like a cat for everything, even on easy setting.

Still a cool/fun concept and a good supplement to our MLB2k9 addiction. But man, I wish easy was "easy"

Yeah, I tried the demo out yesterday on the default difficulty level and batting was definitely hard. You have to be extremely fast with the Quick Time Events as well to make the spectacular catches.

I downloaded the demo of the first one, and IIRC it was also surprisingly hard. But the PSP version was easy. 😕

the disappointing thing is that my 8yr old was really looking forward to the game. He loves the "super plays" and such... He can barely get an out.

I loved the first one and didn't think it was hard at all. It was actually pretty easy - very arcade-like.

Haven't tried the 2nd one, though, so they might have changed it. It might not be a terrible idea to try and get the 1st game for cheap and see if it's more your speed - especially if you're in the market for an arcade baseball game.

Having played the original quite extensively, its exactly the same difficulty to bat, make outs, etc... There is a bit of a steep learning curve to get the timing down. I like the new mini games to make the spectacular catches, and the whole game just seems more fluid.

They also added in something called "Big Slam", which isn't mentioned unless you go into the strategy guide; essentially you fill up your power meter + the bit extended; then hit LB and RB. You'll get 4 pitches total, 1 pitch per hitter (if you dont whiff its a single) and the 4th batter will hit a homerun (Grand Slam) if you make contact. A new bit of strategy if you're down a lot or just want to put the game out of reach for your opponent.

My friend and I have been playing the demo non stop for the past few days, each game ending in dramatic fashion. I foresee myself picking this up on July 7th.

I never played the first, but downloaded this one on my PS3 last night. I won 10-0 on the default setting. Never tried the higher levels though. Seems entertaining, but it would probably lose its "fun factor" after a short amount of time so I'll hold off on it.

I played some more and can crush the CPU on the easy setting now. When I bump up to the normal setting, I get crushed. Practice I guess. Though my 8yr old doesn't have the patience.

Yup, me too. Can easily win on easy, but can't even come close on normal. Tough game for sure.
