The Big Bang Theory is just terrible these days

In before "herpderp it was never good lololol." Troll elsewhere.

When the show started it was nerdy and it was geeky. The characters did experiments, talked about nerdy things, etc. Now the show is just... terrible. They are writing some of the characters just wrong, namely Sheldon. It's like they want the shitty lowest common denominator average viewer to be able to connect with him, similar to the way they ruined House by making him have all of his problems, but I digress...

All Raj does is obsess over women. All Leonard does is obsess over his long distance girlfriend. Penny, who never belonged on the show, is just the token ditz. Where is all of the geeky content? They need to stop fucking focusing on relationships, god damn.

/bad rant

I don't have the long term relationship with the show since I found out about a couple of weeks ago and have already caught up, but I don't think it's horrible, it's just starting to slide.

I agree that the Leonard-Penny thing has gotten a bit repetitive and old and while I do believe that Penny brought something to the show but she's gotten old. It's shit or get off the pot time. Raj being a mute is beyond stupid at this point and Howard as the jewish son who can't move out is old too. Sheldon is still entertaining but I agree that the science talk has decreased and the relationship stuff has increased exponentially.

Your rant is approved. Please continue.

I wouldn't say it's terrible, they could do a lot with the relationships. I agree they need to bring back the nerdiness though.

This new season has certainly been a disappointment and I agree that the show has been in a general decline since the first two seasons.

I wholeheartedly approve of this rant. BBT is the only first-run show that I have watched the last few years. With some anticipation I waited for the two-part season premiere a few weeks ago. The first episode was just fair but the second was just horrible.

The show has gotten way too repetitive even with the introduction of more female characters. It's just become dumb ... ironic because the main characters are all scientisits with high IQs. You can only recite highly complex technical jargon for so long before it grows old.

IMHO season 5 is the beginning of the end for the show. It is sliding but the question is ... how many more seasons will viewers keep the show in the ratings?

Yeah I was wondering if I was just depressed or something and that was why I didn't find this show funny so far this season. Good to know I'm mentally stable and it's really just not funny.

Sheldon isn't Sheldon any more. Penny, meh. Leonard, yeah we get it already. Raj, the only thing to look forward to. Wolowitz, enough with the mom already.

Just started watching this since it went on syndication. I can see what the draw is/was, but I find it to be meh. Maybe im watching the real early ones and it hasnt picked up but the tall whiney guys is most f***ing annoying.

Yeah, anything that made it a tad different from other "young comedies" has been gone for a while. Now it's just another relationship comedy, but not a well done one.

Which is just fine. There's too many shows I started to watch so the more that start to suck the more time I'll have for better ones. I stopped watching House quite a while ago.

I didn't watch early episodes but some time last season I tried to get into it due to several seemingly trustworthy friends and family members liking it. I did find that the nerd/geek references were infrequent, and when they were actually present, they weren't that noteworthy. How I met Your Mother actually has more geeky/nerdy references in many episodes than BBT did in the episodes I watched. Psych has way more.

Your rant might explain why I didn't enjoy the show as much as I'd hoped. The nerdosity was absent and all we had was House-like social disorders, only somehow less funny than House.

I know they have some serious science dudes consulting on the show, but it seems like that's only for throw-away information relating to Sheldon's line of work that they mention once in a while.

My mother likes that show. I only saw it for the first time about a month ago. My mother thought I would like it. I sat through the whole thing like this :^| I saw another episode a week or two ago, and had a couple chuckles, but I don't really dig it. I almost made a thread to see what you all thought, but it wasn't worth the effort.

Boardwalk Empire otoh... Now that's a show. Well written, and I actually give a shit about the characters. Fuck Nelson. That guy's a hypocritical dick :^D

I have to agree.

Which are we supposed to believe?

Nothing created something out of nothing.

GOD created something out of nothing.

Really? You're gonna try and bring religion into a discussion about a TV show?

Boardwalk Empire eh? Might have to look into that. I really like Steve Buscemi.

In the first season, Sheldon was portrayed as a book genious, but social infant. It was endearing and humorous.

Now they are playing him as a self-important prick who thinks he's above everyone else in every manner, almost as if he belongs on ATOT.

It still has a few moments, but I see them slowly destroying characters.

The only big bang theory I know about, is the one that tries to explain how the universe was created.

If its not on discovery channel, history channel, learning channel, green channel, or comedy central, chances are I do not watch it.
