I always liked Biden, but the Dems wanted Hillary and let him know it.

I also remember the Daily Show ripping into him pretty hard.

He says he’ll announce if he is running or not by (end?) January.
I have a feeling Joe would prefer not to run but he’ll do it if nobody’s decent steps up to the plate.

Do you remember the days when Joe Biden would say something mildly ridiculous like about "Indian-Americans and 7-11s" and we'd all recoil in mock horror? Hell the dude and his gaffes are going to seem quaint and like Mr. Rogers when compared to Trump.

Yup, thing is Biden’s gaffs and awkward moments are kind of endearing where as Trumps are ominous.
I admit I have no evidence but “feels”. World isn’t fair sometimes but that is what it is.

I'm going to laugh so hard at all the "I would have voted for Biden in 2016" idiots once the agitprop machine directs it's full wrath at him. Suddenly they'll remember he's the guy who would shoot someone through the door, and not in a good way like this.

Please, for the love of everything good on this planet, run for office.

There's no guarantee he'll succeed, but he's charismatic, experienced and will remind people (at least, the left and true moderates) of the better times under Obama. The hardcore Trump apologists will refuse to support him as a member of the "deeeeeep state," but those are the ones who wouldn't vote Democrat even if Trump ate babies on camera.

Well, if anyone is spreading agitprop, it would seem to be... well it would seem to be you. You shit on Biden and then link to what for what reason?

What the hell point are you trying to make.
Really I don’t understand it.
I know Biden’s said some stuff about shooting a shotgun in the air.
I really don’t understand what dots you are trying to connect.

I just have a better memory than you do, and that's saying something because my memory sucks. When Biden first suggested firing through a door in self defense, 100% of conservative America lost their shit that anyone could be so stupid and irresponsible. Those same people tripped all over themselves to defend the homeowner when the story I linked hit.

I think he believes Biden could/would have been demonized to the right wing partisans to the same extent that Hillary Clinton was. And while it's impossible to test or prove a counterfactual, I do believe Biden would have been a far better candidate against Trump in 2016 and would likely need to be considered tops in the field for 2020 should he decide to run.

Don't forget Bernie, too. And I think it's a fantastic idea to nominate a 76-77yo for President.

So is your position that they are hypocrites, or that Biden was wrong?

They are hypocrites. There was nothing wrong with Biden's statement, assuming you knew you were actually under attack and not just a pants-shitting conservative afraid of your own shadow.

He could be looking at it as a one term thing. Like hey Trump out in 2020, let the younger bench develop, then leave.
Pure guess but it does sound like something Joe would do.

He's 75 right now. So he'd be knocking on 80 in the middle of his term. That's pretty old. And the slide is slippery as you get older... things go downhill damned fast even for the fittest of the fit. Again, I love the guy and wish he would have ran in 2016 but 2020? I dunno.

I’m there too but if the Democrats bench doesn’t improve fast he’s a good bet.
Warren represents my district, she’s just not Presidential material for silly but important reasons. She sounds like your Mother yelling at you when she’s angry, she keeps the Democrat tradition of not protecting her reputation similar to Hillary. No Republican will ever work with her toward anything important

Oh, I agree there really aren't better options right now. At least none that are "visible" as we speak. Biden may be the only choice. They better package him with an awesome VP Candidate at least then

Man, I just happened to stumble on a year old interview with Colbert

Couldn't help but think what a stand up guy he is. Complete opposite of what we have in the White House right now.

I think he'd make a great president, but like others I am worried about his age. He's not showing it yet, he's still as sharp as ever, but when you're that old, things can change very quickly.

I like Biden a fair amount. I still hope that he doesn't run.

I do hope that he takes a top spot in the Dem campaign apparatus to help steer the party, but the time of old white dudes being the face of the D party has passed.
