Harry Callahan: I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

My desert eagle magazine holds 8 rounds of 44mag. :p

That's unfortunate.

Unfortunate for the bad guy.

I'm torn between going and getting the 50ae or 357 conversion. With the rifle-type gas system, 357 would be a dandy to shoot. If only my girly arms didn't get tired of holding up the desert eagle.

Or just get a normal pistol if you need one, maybe a glock or something that wont definitely kill them wherever you hit?

I have plenty of "normal," more practical pistols, rifles, shotguns to defense myself with. I would never use the desert eagle to defend myself at home (except as a last resort) because it would probably blind/deafen me. It is fun to use at the range though.

Besides, if I'm actually using my gun, I definitely don't want them to be a threat anymore. But apparently if I hit them in the foot or something, the desert eagle will still throw them through a couple of interior walls and shatter all the windows in my house.

Fair enough.

It also shoots your entire arm in the other direction. Make your first, and only, shot count.

I shoot a 12 ga John Wayne style just to fuck with/humiliate my incompetent friends who can't hit broad side of barn when dove hunting. 12ga>28ga. No biggie really.

Its still a .410 shell out of a pistol. It just doesn't have the power to stop threats.

Not everyone is thinking meth'd up zombies breaking in their apartment.

I'd think in 9 cases out of 10, simply shooting at a perp would have them running.

And that last 1 in 10 most don't put themselves out there to face.

just a simple handgun is really enough for most. The slide shotgun does have a impact too, but it's also a telltale for where you are at.

IMHO if you have a gun yet no perimeter security in locks, dog, alarm, intruder resistant windows/doors (in that order realistically for most budgets) then you have already failed.

IMHO it's also one's duty if they own guns to have all of the above to keep them from being stolen when they are not home.

On the street, you usually will never have to use your gun...when you do need too again chances are that will be enough no matter how many rounds. I have not heard of anything locally in decades that when one perp was shot the others didn't run away that wasn't a gang vs gang deal or some drug dealer / money launderer getting hit.

Good idea. Not having to completely shut the kiln down must save a ton of money. One client said that it cost them over $200K in fuel and lost productivity to shut down, cool down, restart, and reheat their lime kiln and it wasn't as big as the one in the video.

I bet that job is fun for the first five or ten minutes. Except for the guys shooting from the feed end. That has to just plain suck from the time you climb onto the platform. The heat must be amazing.
