Hey all,

A board that covers all the bases and like OC, built in sound and so on......

I was wondering what you all consider to be a good matx mobo? Or best bang for the buck?

When I built my 4670k rig there was only a couple of matx boards available.

I wound up getting this one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128599

No regrets. OC's fine.

You won't need anything too fancy to overclock a haswell k chip.

Compare features to see what you need/want. Things like SLI support are a must for some people, others like Intel LAN's, etc.

I will not SLI. Intel LAN is very important.

On another forum the Asus Maximus gene IV is getting a lot of praise followed by the Asrock OC Z87M formula.

Guess you lost me with the " best bang for buck " statement in your original post.

The above 2 examples wouldn't be good bang for the buck.

Something like the following would be considered more bang for the buck.

Any Z87 chipset mATX board should fit that bill.

Intel LAN is very important.

Why?

I like Intel LAN too, but that's because everyone else says it is good and thus owning it gives me warm fuzzy feelings. I have yet to discover any "real world" benefits of having it over any competing gigabit chipset in my use case (gaming, simple file transfers over network, backing up over network).
