THE beST VIDEO/3D CARD

I'm getting a new system: EPOX 8k7a with 1.2 ghz 266FSB AMD t-Bird and 256 DDR memory. What kind of videocard do you guys recommend if I'm going to use graphics editing and some games ?

I really don't think you need a GeForce3 for "some video editing". What, 2d (like Photoshop) or 3d editing (like 3D-Max, Autocad)?

2d speed is the same for all new cards, but 2d quality differs.
3d speed as well as the quality is different for all cards.

TomsHardware.com has some interesting video guides.

I Cannot afford a geforce 3. HEhe I wish I could. I use mostly photoshop, but I would like an all around good video card. I am considering Radeon. Is there any others ? what do you guys think ?

Radeons and Kyro2's are both good.

Depending on who you askl and what you play, geforce2 MX's can play better thjan either of the above, but both will look better than the geforces in paintshop (with radeon being the best).

If all you want is paintshop, go matrox.

Radeon Ve, dual head support, great for photoshop, bad for gaming.
Radeon Le, excellent value card, does everything well properly tweaked some have TV-out as well.
Radeon 64 VIVO, also an excellent value card, does everything better, new retail boards sport faster memory for same price(SE)
Radeon AIW 32 DDR, IMHO the best all around mulimedia card available at this moment, huge feature set, pricey and includes features generally not used by most users.

Just a general run down of their basic lineup.

if youre going to get a radeon mainly because of its 2d quality and secondly for its gaming performance, then the Radeon LE should suit you for all your needs. The card works fine with all of todays games, and if it isn't performing fast enough for you, you can always enable hyperz for a nice boost in performance. best price to performance ratio

OKAY GUYS, Here it is. It's either the INNO3D KYRO II 4500 3D Graphics Processor PowerVR Series card with 64 SDRAM, or the ATI RADEON LE with 32MB DDR Memory. Both are about the same price. Which would you get ?

You could probably get the OEM Radeon LE for ~$30 cheaper than the Kyro II. Or if you don't mind a refurb card, Newegg.com was selling them for $60 shipped (just do a search for 'Radeon' in the homepage).
