I'd have to say Korean Pears are the best tasting.

You haven't had pears until you tasted the korean pears.

When I first read the title, Ithought it said "beta testing pears".

Anyway, you're a pear racist, ho dare you claim that one ethnicity of pears is superior to all others! :p

To quote a Vietnamese friend of mine:

"Why's everything gotta be KOREAN?!"

Heh, they're called Asian pears around here. Only the koreans call them korean pears. :)

Edit: and yes, they kick a$$. They taste like pears, but have the crispness of an apple. Very, very addictive.

I thought they were called Japanese pears, never heard them called Korean pears before.

They are even labeled Japanese pears at the Ranch 99 and other Chinese supermarkets.

Japan actually imports them from Korea.

it's just that Korea didn't market her stuff too much before.

I have no evidence to support any of the claims above. they are there purely to stroke my ego. if you don't like you TOUGH.

it's getting there.
I usually purchase them at Han Ahreum bu they're quite expensive. Almost too expensive. But they're good.

Have you had those that they grow inside a bottle ?
I've had some in Korea when I was out a few years ago. The taste of the one's grown in the bottle and the ones that are outside are night and day.
The ones in the bottle are much juicier and sweeter.

Asian Pears Rule! If you haven't had one yet, you MUST try one! Unfortunately, the ones they sell at Jewel in Chicago blow compared to the good ones.
