The best reason to end the filibuster is to be able to pass several voting rights acts. Why is that important? Well besides protecting people’s ability to vote it is also the only thing that’s capable of stopping or at least slowing down the hundreds of voter suppression bills republicans are currently trying to pass at the state level.

We’ve seen other arguments to remove the filibuster but tell me I’m wrong that the above is the best reason.

Yeah, it's definitely at the top of the list right now, with all of the obvious attacks against voting rights in different states across the nation.

Considering the charged history between the filibuster and civil rights, I completely agree. At least change it back to where they had to stand up an talk for hours. Since congress never goes to recess anymore all it'll do is waste time, and then history can remember the racist D-bags just like it remembers Storm Thurmond.

What we have no is ridiculous. If the foundering fathers wanted a bill to need 60% in the senate they would have written the constitution that way.

Agreed, that is the top priority. Can't they just vote to end it for voting rights legislation specifically? That way Manchin won't have to break his promise not to end it.

That and making a few states. What's done by a slim majority is easily undone by a slim majority.
