The best pencil?

Oh me too. I love pencils so much more than any pen and i wish i could use them all the time.
And, your choice in pencils is great. Especially when they are super-sharp.
Maybe i like them more because i like to doodle/draw and pencils are better to do that.

The Ticonderoga is great because the eraser is rubbery and doesn't smear like hard erasers. It doesn't shred apart like some pencils when you try to sharpen them. And it has a cool color :).

I'm not big into mechanicals. They always malfunction and the lead always breaks on me.

 mechanical pencils. Any .5mm is good for me. I hate regular #2 pencils though, I always find the eraser to be sh!tty.

Papermate PHD is the best. It has a huge twist top eraser, and one has never failed me yet; it's also very comfortable.

It has to be .5mm mechanical for me (I use the pentel P245). I'm a lefty so any thicker and it smudges like crazy

That's actually my current pencil. It used to be my backup after this fruity orange pencil that my ex bought me, but now its my primary because I think I've lost my other pencil.

I need a good 0.5mm pencil right now that I can hold comfortably. I need a better grip. I loved the 3-in-1 PhD pencils with a pen, stylus and pencil. But then I don't really touch my PDA much anymore :(

That's what we use in our office. They are the awesome for lettering, but not for precision work, too soft. I'm a former draftsman, now CAD technician, I was always very attached to my old school lead holders. I still use them for field notes/dimensions, and making quick hand sketches in the office.

One of the clients I work at carries these Papermate Titanium 0.7mm pencils. I stock up when I'm out there quite a bit. The top half of the pencil can be turned to reveal an eraser which is a cool feature.

Looks very nice!

I tend to go with free pencils that I pick up from random places, but I wouldn't really consider any of them to be my favorite. :)
