the best mobile harddrives

who makes the best (reliable and fast) mobile laptop harddrives. I am looking for 2.5" HDDs. Are the 7200RPM IBM/Hitachi drives anygood?

i know, are they any good? failure rate? reliability?

edit: i think i read it wrong, you were asking? Yeah they do.

They have good specs, but they are not really available everywhere yet. The price is high - $350 for a 60 GB drive. The warranty is not too great. The best I see out there now is the Toshiba 5400 RPM with a 16 MB cache and a three year warranty.

I saw a review of the Hitachi drive on some Mac site, but the tests were run with it in a firewire enclosure which doesn't make them particularly useful. Even so, it still was faster than the 5400 drives. Toshiba has released a 7200 drive as well that is available in Japan right now.

I think the best drive for the price is still the IBM/Hitachi 40GNX 40GB 5400 rpm 8mb cache drive.

it feels faster than the toshiba 16mb cache drive, and has a better warranty
