The best memory-timings for an X800XT PE

I'm not sure, I think I use those now, since I have flashed to an X800XT PE BIOS. I was actually just looking for the best usable timings for the X800XT PE...
 
Not too sure if youll find much on the mem timings of Vid cards, but i usually play around with them in AtiTool, it gives options to change nearly every CAS timing you can think of. Trial an error really, lower the timings until the screen goes whack and you know thats the limit so put it back to the last timing that was fine and there you have it.
 
It's all the work that bothers me, I have to restart the computer everytime something goes wrong... And if someone have done it before me, then I save a LOT of time...
 
You know...people a lot smarter than both you and I went thru a lot of trouble to determine the Optimal performance settting for memory and core timings when they designed todays graphics cards. Leave it alone....you'll be better off in the long run!!

Haha! You might be right, they probably are smarter than me, and you. But they have to consider a lot of things when the set those timings. For examle, they have to be stable at any workable temperatures and they have to work with all the RAM chips they get. In theory, all the RAM on my graphics card will have the ability to run faster, because the people who configured it, would have to make sure the timings are high enough that every RAM chip can handle it. If I find faster and stable timings, I can not lose on it, it's a win/win situation. The same with overlocking of CPU's. Sure my components will last only two years instead of twenty. But by then, it will be on a scrapheap anyway... So what you are really saying here, is that I should not bother overclocking anything because the ones who made the parts, are smarter than me anyway!
