Wrong forum you say? I've seen a number of people ask this on off-topic so calm down.

I was wondering if the Dell $2,000 Inspiron laptop -$750 coupon deal was the best deal you could get.

My budget is around $1300-1400.
 
Check out Sager. Much better build quality than Dell Inspiron and Latitude, better battery and power supply offerings, and last time I checked, more bang for the buck.

My vote is for Sager, currently my favorite notebook brand.

mabye so, but i sager can't compare when you have a $750 coupon...
 
Ive worked on several sagers... imho they are trash, but i'm not a fan of dell either... HP or some of the not so recent IBM's are top notch
 
There's a huge range in quality on HPs. The HPs you find in-stock at OfficeMax/OfficeDepot/Staples/Walmart are absolute garbage. But I have seen some high quality business grade HPs in the past. But I can testify that the sub-$1200 HPs you find in local stores have horrible construction.

All of the Sagers I have ever seen have been very high quality. Yes, they're plastic... not aluminum or carbon fiber.... but the ones I have worked with have been the most sturdy plastic notebooks I have ever seen or used. Of couse, there are also many models of Sager that I haven't seen or used...
 
yeah i was kinda vague, i appologize, definitly get a business series notebook, much better construction, i dont work on pavilions/enduser stuff, i only work on evo/business stuff
