Don't forget about Jedi Mind Tricks.

Heiro/Gravediggaz are from about a decade ago, like others said. Do they have any good new stuff out?

Gravediggaz are disbanded now, in fact one of the members died a couple of years ago from colon cancer. Heiro on the other hand has just released a new album called Full Circle last year. Its a really good record, also Casual, Pep Love, Del and a few others have all released new solo material. Check out their website here.

Hiero is one of the only rap albums I have held onto, great sound. Del's both sides of the brain was ok but I like the group effect better in Heiro. After Dark is a wicked song.

Del is a great rapper but a horrible producer and unfortunately he usually does the production work for his albums.

There's a rumour going around that Tribe is working on a new album. Also possibly the best news in hiphop all year is that Digable Planets are back together, I can't wait to see another album from those guys.

You're right on with MF Doom, not too sure about the other ones though.
Not crazy about Heiro, but Gavediggaz first album was good

I'd like to add

Company Flow
Dr. Octagon
Ultramagnetic MC's
Dan the Automator <--Agreed
Handsome Boy Modeling School
Herbaliser <--Agreed
Non Phixion
Peanut Butter Wolf

Also try:

The Creators
The Roots

I never heard of The Creators before, do they have a website?

Speaking of the Roots did you like the last album or two? I think they're last good record was When Things Fall Apart.

Check out "The Creators - The Weight".

I have just today been advised that 'The tipping point' by The Roots is good. My Favourite is still 'Illadelph Half Life'.

Binary Star hasn't released anything new. When they released Master's of the Universe they got screwed over by the record company that put it out...and they don't even own the masters for it, the record company does. Most of what is out there was made by them from ripped CD's. Here is some content from an Ebay listing that they put up to sell their CD:

This is a copy of Binary Star?s second album ?Masters Of The Universe? or ?M.O.T.U.?. Released in 2000 almost a year to the day of the group?s break-up! Like most new/young artists, they we?re screwed by their distribution company (TRC). SoundScan reports that the group sold over 20,000 copies, but the distributor(located San Francisco,Ca ), still to this day, claims that they only sold 1500 copies throughout the entire life of the project! Am I the only one that this sounds funny to!? It?s like the magic bullet theory! They expect us to believe that this album touched 35 out of 50 states, 11 different countries, and has remained a constant fixture in underground Hip Hop for 6.5 years; from only 1500 copies!!! No, I don?t buy that. Bid now.

A message from Senim Silla of Binary Star:
Let me apologize for any misunderstanding or inconvenience,
it is not our intention to mislead you. Yes, it is a copy of the album;
we're selling these only because we're unable to press retail units
right now. The project's masters are still tied up in a battle with
the distributor. I know this because I'm Senim Silla, creator of the music.

rnuday@hotmail.com trades for us on ebay, so know that
when you buy from him, you are buying directly from us.
You are supporting the group directly. Trust me, we wouldn't
make such claims if we weren't the copyright holders.

We're moving towards manufacturing our own product and
placing more emphasis on the content rather than the
container. Like I said, it is a copy, but the music is the
most important thing. The quality is just as good as
store-bought. I always thought the artwork was kinda
cheesy anyway. ;-)

More important than all of that, we don't get paid off of
those retail ready copies (packaged with bar codes)
So know that every time you see a retail copy of M.O.T.U.
or Waterworld; that that's another copy that we're not getting
paid for. Sad but true.
Rhythm,
Silla

yep, 'blame it on the hooch'. but its mostly older material, complation and collabs. but still a good album. he's actually working on a new album now, his follow up solo debut to 'sin-a-matic', entitled 'the odd couple'. cant wait for that, its supposed to arrive either this month or early next month.

heh, was listening to 'things fall apart' on the way to work today. out of nowhere, i just felt the need to listen to 'next movement', 'step into a realm', 'table of contents', and 'adrenaline'. since i was hovering around tracks at the end of the cd, put on 'you got me' also. but the new roots cd isnt bad. there's a few tracks on there i really like. but its not the same as the old material, i know what you mean.

ive also been listening to a lot of 'reflection eternal' lately. ill just be driving along and ill feel like listening to something ive havent heard in awhile. last week i was in a a.t.c.q. state of mind and was having a 'left my wallet in el segundo' and 'hey sucka ni***' withdrawal.
