I am looking for the best value of headset under $20 for use in listening to music and using Dragon Naturally Speaking 8. The mic has to be the best quality for a <$20 set, and the headphones just have to have decent bass/clarity. I'm not talking about 5.1 noise-cancelling surround sound whatever....I just want to enjoy listening to music on them and have a good mic for good accuracy for voice recognition. I've been doing some research and I've been getting mixed reviews about the Plantronics Gamecon 1's durability and do Logitech sets not have good bass in general? Because my friend has the Precision Gaming Headset, and he said it had bad bass. But I'm not too sure about any of their budget wrap-arounds on Newegg. I'm not an audiophile, hence a cheap set. Personal experiences with headset durability problems are welcomed. Thanks a ton in advance guys, I appreciate any help given.

EDIT: I'm also thinking about Plantronics .340 Audio from Newegg. 16.99 + 5 shipping

I think with stuff that cheap, quality really is hit-and-miss. Within a particular brand, or even model, quality can vary with each one.

Generally with cheap audio equipment, it's you-get-what-you-pay-for (unless you buy certain Koss headphones). Generally, though, I guess Plantronics is a fairly good brand. A good idea is to buy them from a retail store, make sure they don't have a restocking fee, buy it, try it out; if you don't like it, return it.
