For those who doesn't know what is Desknote...read here, others please jump to section 2.

Some of you might have or might not have heard of Desknote, or aka ECS's i-buddle series. It is basically a Laptop + a Desktop. The Price of Desktop and the size of laptop!!!
The current version offer VIA 1GigaPro Processor ( 667 or 733 Mhz depending on model ), with 168 Pin ( Desktop version ) PC133 SDRAM, etc.... I hope anandtech could do a review on it ^_^

2) Tom has recently reported that ECS are in the middle of making a new DeskNote version with Intel Northwood 2.2 GHz Processor. Since the CPU run very cool under air cooled condition. So it makes sense to use it for desknote. If a SIS 645 A2 fit in, and a moditfy circuit so that it could fit in a NV17M..........

Would there ever be a product like that?? I don't know. But it is good to day dream about it. What do you think of this dreaming product?? ^_^

If ECS makes a 2.2GHz P4 notebook I doubt they will pair it with a NV17M. More then likey ECS will use what ever cheap chipset VIA has out with onboard video. If you want a gaming notebook check out the one GamePC sells(link).

Those notebooks are quite big, and they don't have any power supply, which makes them useless for a notebook, imo.

Bah that system isnt good... you can build a dell laptop for cheaper and it will have better specs then that one. I have an inspiron 8100 and it performs very well excpet I only have a geforce2go 32MB instead of the new radeon 7500 moblie and I payed 1700 for it.

Yeah, I would have to say why wait?

Dell's 8100 with the Radeon 7500 smokes. Plays everything with no problems.
+ they have the UXGA 15" screen.
