I don't want to use the one packaged with Win2k......... takes too long.

I think the best free one is probably what comes with W2K. I'm not even sure if there are any other free ones. If you want something better and faster, you are probably going to have to pay for it. I believe the utility in W2K is a stripped version of Diskeeper.

Get a Norton's System Works Pro 2001. They go for about $15 shipped for just the CD. Best $15 you'll ever spend!
