Just curious to see who here likes what FPS. I have been mainly a BF player the last coupla years, and Im looking to expand. Just thought Id see what FPS everyone is playing.
 
the last good FPS i have played so far would be Riddick escape from butcher bay.

Fear is alright but it doesn't go into my book as anything earth shattering except for its AI which totally beat Halo AI ass 🙂

I would watch out for UT2007 , Crysis , Quake Wars , Darkness and Bioshock. Out of this list of games i would say :
*Quake War would take as the next big multiplayer game (BF franise is done )
*Bioshock would be next major FPS to move the bar to a whole new level
 
Not really NBrown , i didn't like the PC version as its more FPS , on the xbox 360 it was much better as it was a totally different game in 3rd person mode.
 
Agreed on GRAW for the 360 in 3rd person. Much better than on PC.

Also loved HL2, Riddick, CoD2, and Condemned. Didn't care for FEAR, BF2, Q4, or Doom 3. Desperately waiting for CoD3 and Gears of War (even though it's really a 3PS). Even RS:V looks good.
 
Chronicles of riddick, its seriously a fun ride, its an FPS but theres a lot more to it than just run n gun. You can talk with other prisoners, kill them too if theres noone around (or if you can lure them to an area with no cameras) you can even do prisoner missisons which is helping out other with their problems although this is optional to a large extent, all this whilest your escaping, not just for 5-10 minutes at the start. They even managed to fit aliens into it! Also to a limited extent vehicles. The vehicle you get at the end is awsome!

In fact just thinking about it... im gonna go play it again 🙂
 
HL 2 and FEAR get my vote for single player... the original bf:1942 for multiplayer...

and, although it's made for 3rd person and not 1st person, hitman: blood money was very entertaining.
 
If you mean all time, Deus Ex still remains way ahead of everything else for me. (it's still easily available on ebay)

Out of relatively recent games, I'll put in another vote for Riddick. That and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory were the two games of modern times that I thought were genuinely outstanding, although you have to put up with Starforce in the latter.

I'm tempted to play it again myself, now that you mention it. If only I had the time... 🙁
 

You don't mention the last games you play, other than BF, so here goes:

HL2, Quake 4, Fear, PREY, COD2, Painkiller, Farcry, Condemned and yes, definitely Riddick, man what a sleeper that one was.

Xbox version was like a kids game.. way too many shots to kill people and the mossions were cheesey like the shooting the mini vulcan from the chopper.

 
HL2.
Kick-ass game.
Doesn't take too much hardware to run either; that's why I love the Source engine.
FEAR, on the other hand... great game, inefficient engine. HL2 looks nearly as good as FEAR, too. Well, in some respects, at least. CoD2 multi is fun.

great game and the last 'awesome' fps much better than any 'riddick' movie . . . '04 ... wish there was an expansion or a sequel. 😛

Q4 was pretty good . . . everything D3 should have been . . .

HL2 was good . . . EP1 sucked . . .

Gun could have been good but it has some really stupid things that destroy 'immersion'


it is SO BAD with FPSes that i have started to play RPGs and even RTSes . . .

Oblivion was great . . . a least the fighting is 'FPS'
