Since there are so many teams working on them, and the titles don't even make sense, why don't we make a thread for this. My goal is a sticky, but that probably won't happen. When a new driver comes out, we can test them and decide if they are better or worse than the last one. If anyone wants, they come here to find out what driver should be downloaded at any current time. I can edit this post with a link to the best current one.

Either the XTreme-G 84.37.v2 or the older XTreme-G 84.22.v2.

I'd get the newer one though because of the Oblivion performance improvement (if you play it). I'd get it anyway because of some newer things.

Edit: Just remember when you install it to use Driver Cleaner Pro in safe mode (after you'd uninstalled the drivers from Device manager.

So, that is the general agreement? I'll link to it up there, if something else comes out, we can link to that. I'd also like to include non-modded drivers, I think that means the 87.08 is the fastest/IQ driver.

I personally prefer to stick to the latest official version at nVidia's website.

Currently i have the 84.37v2's but i honestly cant tell difference in IQ from my the previous 84.22v2's i had installed on my system. Performance is only up minimal, but hey at least its up. I havent touched oblivion in a while so i couldnt really speak for that. But overall XG'ed 84.37v2 FTW.:thumbsup:

What happened to the old "Nvidia driver review thread", nevermind thats a rhetorical question, anyway so far this thread is IMHO. Without substantial benchmarks (both ingame and synthetic) and a great deal of input on compatibility issues I would have to lay my vote with BFG10K (and this is coming from a prior beta driver freak!) until we get much more input (like the old driver thread!).

pcmax i doubt that will ever happen with benches, goal is probably to list the top drivers in performance/IQ and the present time, and inform others here so that they themselves may look up on TRU's website, for example, and view benches themselves there. Or we may just link the benches from here directly, that is if this thread gets pretty hot.

Text <- 84.37/84.56 on review on TRU

And even if you like sticking with the latest official drivers, I bet ONE experience turned you off from using the beta's/tweaked drivers, right? Ok, maby more that one, but it's running fine and stable over here, plus I get adding performance and IQ.

I just recently purchased my first nVidia card, so I'm new to their drivers. Will these work with any card? I currently have the eVga 7900gt KO. Thanks :)

Yeah I've hardly ever found a reason to use something else. I remember with my Radeon 64 VIVO or maybe it was just my 9800 Pro.... I used to browse Rage3d forums alot. Every fvcking time a new Omega or official or beta or ANYTHING came out, there was a 100pg thread:

"OMG IQ is WAY better than the last set"
"HUGE performance increase across the board"
"IQ is horrible, back to old ones"
"75 more 3dmarks!! AWESOME drivers"

It was just like totally random crap. I don't get wtf people were doing but I don't notice a thing with different drivers unless it is just major or a new release breaks something. I swear those people spent more time benchmarking and reinstalling all these different drivers (and usually fvcking up something in the process, or killing their performance) than using the cards for gaming and whatnot.

LOL, I remember those days with my Radeon 64 VIVO or maybe it started with my Rage Fury 32. Now I'm caught up doing the same thing years later with Nvidia cards, d@mn it all to h3ll! ;)
