What's the best CPU fan/hs for a 1 ghz thunderbird and where can I buy it? I don't plan on overclocking. I just want to be safe.

I also would like to know the best thermal stuff to put on the CPU and where to buy that at.

Thanks for the help!

I just looked at the specs for Swiftech 462 and 80mm fan design looks awesome, but the price is way too high ($62 for bare heatsink).

I just placed a 80mm Adda fan over my crappy ChromeOrb and saw a drop of 10C! The temps were measured using both a probe and the MB onboard sensor and the temps are always within 1 degree.

Gee...everyone has a different answer. Ok...then how much do they cost and where can I get them? Do they come with the thermal stuff for the processor?

I like my Alpha PAL6035. It's an excellent performer and is well designed. Pick it up at www.pchertz.com. I got a pre-assembled package that has the Sanyo Denki fan, which is EXTREMLY quiet. It's up to you! Mine was like $40, but the package is retail and comes with everything you need, including pads, manual, Thermal Grease, etc. It's a nice deal.
