The Best Book/Movie Combo?

I think Black Hawk Down is the best one out there. The book and movie were amazing and are my favorite book and movie to date (I am a BHD addict).

The Bourne Trilogy could have come close, but the movies didn't really follow the books at all.

I can't say what are the "best" combos but I like:

"In the Heat of the Night"

"Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy"

"No Time for Sargents"

I never even knew it was based on a Steven King book.

What's kind of funny is that Stephen King wrote how he ran into a lady on the street who was talking about Shawshank. He told her he wrote it, and she didn't believe him 😀 Guess that's what happens when 99% of your work is horror.

wow, lots of very good selections here. I'm hoping Ender's Game will one day be a part of this list as well. I'm a huge huge fan of the series.

Hunt for Red October. Book and movie were both fantastic.
2010. Movie had a lot of cool parts, and the book had more. Wish they had been able to intregrate the Chinese team into the movie.
The Relic. Fun, cheesy movie, and the book works very well.
The Name of the Rose. The book is a bit dense and slow at times, but weaves a good mystery. And Connery in the movie rocked. Plus I thought the movie ended better.

Jaws was fvcking awful! Spielberg worked miracles on the source material to turn it from a crappy soap-opera-with-fish to the iconic thriller it became.

A Clockwork Orange

Jackie Brown (Rum Punch)

Trainspotting

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
