Close :p But it's better - because it's a nature preserve, no stupid humans to fvck things up with houses and the sort.

The Gulf Coast of Florida has the best beaches. The beaches in Miami and the keys SUCK! It's like walking on cat litter.

That's the best beach you've got? Chalk another one up for NZ - Mt Maunganui and Piha kick that beaches ass.

My favorite would be Lani Kai on Oahu. it doesn't get crowded. soft sand. no big waves. 2 small islands off in the distance for scenery. The local photographers love that place so much that every once in a while you can see bikini photo shoots.

I'm sure if I was a professional photographer I could get better photos. The sand is what I like best - it's powdery white

It's on far south padre where the paved road ends, about 2 hours drive south from Corpus Christi. There is a nice tourist center there, and the Padre Island national seashore reserve begins there and the road changes to sand (4wd only). Because of the 2 hour distance from any main roads hardly anyone goes there even durring peak tourist season:)

Cape San Blas is definitely a nice beach. The bay there is also excellent for scalloping. While camping at Cape San Blas make sure you have some very good insect repellent and also make sure you secure your food items. A raccoon stole my freshly ground peanut butter. I'm gonna get that boy. I used to go to an island east of Cape San Blas called St. George Island which also an extremely nice beach. There is a primitive campground and several restaurants and assorted shops. Possibly a nice place to actually vacation since there is a least a little something to do there besides admire the beach. The water is not as clear usually as Cape San Blas but the water continues to get clearer moving west towards Mexico Beach, Panama City, Destin, Ft. Walton and Pensacola. I lived for several years in Pensacola and Santa Rosa Island has areas very similar to Cape San Blas where you can get away from people if you want.

I can't be the only one who thinks that you shouldn't be able to get the "best beach" title if your beach has alligators.

Well - they're only seen on the marshy side of the cape. THe side of the cape that faces the Gulf is where the beaches are at :)
