The best 6800GT?

Help me pick out the best 6800GT card:

eVGA
PNY
BFG OC
XFX
Gigabyte
Albatron
Chaintech
MSI
Leadtek
Asus (makes a 128-bit, but not sure if they make a 256?)

I want to know primarily which run games the best and are the most stable, but also which have good software packages?

I heard Gainwood was good but I can't find the Golden Sample anywhere. I'm probably gonna get BFG so I don't have to go through the trouble to OC it myself. Also since they're guaranteed to run stable at their OC it's cool. But it looks like its a close call, what does the Asus come with btw?

Seriously, what is the difference between the 2-fan BFG and the single-fan BFG? I would think the 2-fan cools better, but...?

Nice site but I don't get much out of it. All I was asking was the difference between the 2-fan and the 1-fan. 2-fan has leds though. 🙂

In my opinion, Leadtek. Why?

Gainward cards are nowhere to be found on pricewatch.
All other companies except for BFG offer loud stock cooling.

So we have BFG and Leadtek left.

Leadtek runs at <30db
Leadtek comes with SplinterCell: pandora tomorrow AND prince of persia

BFG has lifetime warranty and might overclock better since it has louder/faster fan(s).
I am not sure if BFG still comes with Far Cry.

Now EVGA has $399 with "free" doom 3 - if you dont already have it

XFX comes with 2 DVI ports if that interests you

PNY - stock cooling and no games in the bundle

But:

Leadtek can be bought for $378 on eWiz, so that's what i'd take considering all other factors.

I considered Leadtek, but I went ahead and order the BFG. I actually ordered it before I read this post :-/ but I'm sure I won't be dissappointed. The nice cooling and software package appealed to me, but I got BFG because it also has nice cooling but most of all, is pre-OC'd for me. I wasn't planning on OCing a 400 - 500 dollar vid card, but since this comes warrantied with the OC and guaranteed to run stable with the OC, not to mention Doom 3 (which I don't have 😉), I went with it instead. Leadtek came as choice number 2 though. I also already have Farcry, got it with my motherboard/CPU combo from monarchcomputer.com.

Please post what you think of the BFG fan noise. I'm trying to build a somewhat quiet computer, and the video card is the only thing I'm worried about. If it is at all loud, I'll just buy a cheaper one and put an artic silencer on it (but I'd rather not mess with it and void warrantees if I don't have to)

If you get BFG or PNY just hope it goes ok for you. I've seen some horrible experiences in person.

Hopefully for your sake BFG won't be the next Visiontek... life time warranty my a$$!
