The "best" 56k for gaming?

A while back I posted about not having cable in the area and asking about if the company would provide it for me if I ran the wire for them, that didn't work too well. Anyway, using AOL (off of my grandparents phone line) and playing D2/Guildwars I get about a 1-2 second delay playing. I know when I posted a while ago people told me that AOL was the lowest on the list for gaming as far as 56k goes but didn't tell me what was best. What would be the best thing to get as far as gaming goes with 56k?

just a good local ISP would be your best bet, and get a serial modem (should be able to get them dirt cheap these days. should get you 150-300 ping on most servers

I don't know if this will really work... But I read about it a while ago.... Pop in 2 or 3 Modems or fill all the free PCI Slots with 56k Modems and Band em and dail in 🙂 It's complicated to do but would be worth it if it actually will increase your download speed....So check around on that 😉

If DSL and cable broadband is out. Could check with the phone company see if ISDN is available.
