The Best 5.1 Surrond Speakers

I'm pondering very hard trying to figure out what type of multimedia speakers to get. But I have to go on a budget of about US$220.00. I have been looking at the Logitech Z680 5.1 surround speakers. Any one can give some other picks.

I think that those will probably be the best for your budget. The only ones that would be better are more expensive, about in the $300-400 range.

If you wanted to spend a little less you might consider Logitech's Z-5300 (there's a newer version of them too, I think its 5300z or something). I've seen this set for as low as $99+shipping and the newer version for about $150.

The Z-680s would be better though.

z680 is old now, THe new Logitechs are z5500
They are not the best. The best speakers you could get for money is Klipsch Ultra 5.1. This has been posted on this forums multiple times. Try a search.

BOSE

Personally, I wouldn't have the Z680s at any price. Their bass is way over exaggerated (the lowest level is ALMOST acceptable, but still too boomy). They also had awful hissing issues that may still exist. I have their satellites left over from a replacement set and they're not bad. You might consider the Klipsch GMX5.1, as it's in your price range. Other than that, I'd either save some more money for the Klipsch, or drop down to a 4.1 system.

I hae the z680s and they dont hiss...

yes the bass is a bit boomy but you can adjust it. Optical in is a great plus also

I'd say the z5500s are just as good if not better than the ultras... but that's just from personal experience 🙂
