I have 2 x 2 GB DDR3 1333 memory modules (dual chanel).I want to add memory in the remaining 2 slots.

1. Add 2 modules (2 x 2 GB)? Total size and combination: (2 x 2 GB) + ( 2 x 2 GB) = 4 x 2 GB = 8 GB

2. Add 2 modules (2 x 4 GB)? Total size and combination: (2 x 2 GB) + ( 2 x 4 GB) = 4 GB + 8 GB = 12 GB

Which combination of memory will be better and faster? 1 or 2?Different combination of size modules influence on something?

I always match my ram so i would use 4 * 2gb sticks, on a side note... what makes you think you need 12gb of RAM 8gb is more than enough for what the vast majority of people use their machines for.

it will not make a difference no matter what way you go. I would go with 4gb modules as 8gb stix will be more available hopefully soon.

we also do not know your system specs or your use on the system. Do you overclock, etc? this could help. I personally use 1600, but if 1333 works for you, thats fine too. I would still go with 4gb stix over 2gb stix

any thoughts on Samsung "green" memory?

I believe they claim the ram to be a smaller lithography (40nm vs 5xnm normal, maybe).

it runs at a lower voltage.... i.e. you save some $ for power, but you won't see the savings on one machine
