What is the absolute best 17 inch monitor? I'll use it primarily for work and gaming. Money is no object...seriously.

A flat panel would be nice, but do any of them have high enough refresh rates and response times for gaming? I'm not opposed to a CRT either. HD would be nice, but I already have an HDTV so having it on a monitor wouldn't be as big a deal.

I just put together (built) my first computer ever, and i already feel in love with my Benq 17" LCD (767) i think. It is at newegg for $399 and has a very fast response time (16ms).

Best 17' inch monitor I ever had was the NEC FE700. Flat screen CRT. Always crisp picture and a nice refresh rate as well...you can pick them up pretty cheap too from Pricewatch.

I've got an NEC 17 inch flat screen that's pretty nice. 16ms response time, plenty fast for gaming. Only problem is no DVI, but I can't really tell the difference.
