This case is absolutely fantastic. Extremely spacious interior and absolutely amazing cooling capabilities. If anyone is in the market for a new case, I highly recommend giving this a look. It's a little pricey but well worth it.

Indeed. I went with the Raven 2 as well, only because this case was (at the time) delayed and I was itching to do a new build. I like the styling of the FT-02 a bit more.

Better than the RV-02. I have the special edition (red one) - only 1500 made. It's currently getting worked for water cooling. (yes you read that right!)

Get rid of those drive "quick mounts" ASAP. Use screws to mount drives properly! :p

It's a cool box right out of the gate. The HI/LOW switch arrangement is OK but a fan controller would be better especially if your box isn't an oven. ;)

I dunno why you'd bother watercooling in an FT02. People have done it but there are way better options/cases out there like the 800D.

The quick mount work just fine in the FT02 aswell, no real need to use screws.

it looks identical, save the nice AL panels instead of steel and plastic. that would make it nicer, but not necessarily 'better'

Huge fan of the FT02, definitely one of the more unique and better designed cases that have come out in a while. Would love to build a system inside one, maybe later this year if I have the money to put a nice Bulldozer computer together. :)

Really can't tell very much about the case from the pictures, but I will take your word for it..

The 800D wastes too much space for that useless hotswap drive bay. I don't like those flimsy things. If you need hotswap a proper server type mobile rack is the only way to go. The ventilation on the 800D is also questionable. Sure you can get things in there with modification but I don't like the looks of the box.

The triple rad is attached to the back of the box with stand offs. Very little modding to the chassis. This is going to be a compact system with easy ability to move, etc.

Quick mounts are a serious compromise and don't hold the drives securely at all. Remember this is for use on a moving ship and everything must be super tight!

The extra aluminum wrap around (yoke) of the FT-02 makes the chassis much stronger than the plastic over steel raven 02. I've had both and the raven breaks too easily when dropped to the floor, for example.

Damn, the FT02 is a fine looking case :)

I'm torn between the FT02 or a Lian Li - PC-8FIB

http://www.lian-li.com/v2/en/produc...ex=479&cl_index=1&sc_index=25&ss_index=62&g=f

Or, a Lian Li PC - V1020

http://www.lian-li.com/v2/en/product/product06.php?pr_index=555&cl_index=1&sc_index=25&ss_index=62

Or, a Antec DF85

http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/product.php?id=MjQyNQ==

Id like a large case, with great air cooling performance, with clean lines and good looks. The Antec's looks are kind of odd. But the performance and cost are both favourable. However, I was thinking, a case is more than just functional. It's an item of aesthetic value. That thought got me looking at Silverstone and Lian Li, who seem to make some beautiful cases, which perform very well. Having a hard time deciding though!

Check this Lian Li PC - 1020 review: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cases/2011/01/06/lian-li-pc-v1020-review/1

The cooling test includes a show down with the FT02, Antec DF85, and Lian Li PC - 1020. FT02 wins but the others do nicely.

Honestly I don't like the Raven2 but everyone has their own taste. I have a 1st gen Antec 900 and just got a Lian Li A05NB and really like it. As understated as possible is my style these days. That Raven case is very interesting though.

The motherboard is rotated clockwise 90 degrees. The bottom has 3 180mm intake fans, blowing up on all the peripherals. The power/lan/sound/vga cables connect to the top of the computer and are covered up by a mesh finish. The inside of the case is very spacious.

How long is that GTX 275? I'm morbidly curious as to how a 6990 or a GTX 590 would fit in one of these (and by extension how their out-both-sides stock coolers would clash with the fans blowing directly at them)...

how much longer than a 5870? they are a tight fit in my raven, but there is some space left

Off the top of my head, the 6990 is about an inch longer than a 5870 (which puts it at right around 1'). The GTX 590 is about the same size as a 5870, give or take a fraction.

Yow. :(

Personally, having spent time with the FT02 and v1020, I would pick the FT02 over the v1020 (and I'm a Lian Li fanboy so to speak, especially their v series).

That said, look at the B10. It appears to be a very well designed case. I generally prefer Lian Li to Silverstone, but I'd take either over Antec or Coolermaster anyday.*

*I still like Antec and CM, especially for their price points (usually). I would pick either of these over no-name OEM cases or other cheap crap.

I just like the fact you can't mount an optical at the top bay! If you can, tell me which model! Which brand!??

I've heard bluray combo drives--forget about top mount!

I'm getting ready to put a new build together and looked long and hard at the FT02. It's a great case and I'm sold on Silverstone products. Anyone interested in learning more about it photos, reviews, etc. here's the link... http://www.silverstonetek.com/products/p_contents.php?pno=FT02&area=usa ...My current machine is a legacy TJ06. Nice wind tunnel for my Xeons, but not the best design for airflow.

Anyway, for my new box I opted to go with a HAF X. That case is a monster and really moves some air. Haven't started building yet because I'm still waiting on my motherboard, but here's to hoping I made a good choice.

HAF X isn't bad at all, it's gigantic, way more room inside then the FT02, and only runs 2-3 degrees warmer. It's really ugly though, and has a ton of plastic on it.

Just depends on the length, there are a ton of DVD drives u can mount in the top, but you're right, I don't think there are any Bluray drives you can mount in the top spot.

yeah!!! So being that this case is a "style" type of case, I really want the top mount to be used by my optical drive! Do you guys have any suggestions as to which DVD/RW's would fit?

Go get one of those 90 degree adapters for your video cable so you can put the lid back on.

I think the dimensions in that area are identical to the RV-02. I bought myself one of these when it was on sale:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-222-_-Product
And it's identical in length to my old DVD-RW, so it would fit in the top spot. I'm just too lazy to switch them.

I'm thinking my next case will be a TT Level 10 (original) the new GT is too.... Normal, and doesn't look like an art piece!
