Why do people make such a big deal out of this? They're available on Amazon's download service. Is it really that hard to type A M A Z O N . C O M into your computer?

I'd wait till they release new remasters before buying anything.

Supposedly the results are going to be amazing.

Because iTunes is the #1 place to buy mp3's. I never have and never will use iTunes or anything Apple but it's a big deal to majority of people that have no idea on how to get music other than from iTunes.

I don't listen to much on the player itself. Instead I listen via nice computer speakers, home stereo or via nice car stereo.

Are they available from Amazon? I did a search and I got a ton of results for mp3s by tribute bands. I'd think songs by the actual Beatles would be at the top of the list of search results.

I skimmed over the Amazon.com Beatles store and didn't see any MP3s. I did see this though:
Where Are the Beatles MP3s?
Amazon MP3 does not yet offer the complete Beatles digital catalog. Not all artists have approved their music for sale as MP3s yet, but more titles are being added daily. However, we do have MP3s from Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison.

The wording of the first sentence is ambiguous, because it leaves open the possibility that they offer a portion of the Beatles catalog. The second and third sentences in combination with the fact that the paragraph exists at all, and a common sense interpretation of the first sentence in context, lead me to believe they don't offer any Beatles MP3s. But I could be wrong. Where are they?

Edit:
Also there's this article posted today:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/tec...-join-the-MP3-age.html
The Fab Four's music has so far been unavailable online, making them one of the few artists to resist going digital. Since it remains illegal in the UK to copy the contents of a CD to your MP3 player, if you have any Beatles songs on your iPod, or any other songs that you've copied from CD, then you're breaking the law.

I don't know, it sounds to me like maybe the Beatles albums aren't available in mp3 format.

The reason you can't buy The Beatles in MP3 format on Amazon.com is because Paul McCartney is a greedy motherfucker so Amazon told him to fuck off and get ass cancer. Paul McCartney broke up The Beatles and hired the hit on John Lennon. True story, said so in last month's issue of Rolling Stone.

No, it's Yoko's fault. She's the dragon lady!

BTW that was a very interesting Rolling Store article.

The Beatles' catalog has never been available on any legitimate download service, including Amazon. Just getting them into Rock Band (even as a single-band title) was a big deal. So right now if you want MP3s of their music, you are either ripping CDs one by one, or pirating it.

AC/DC is also a big hold-out.
