So I have been listening to Abby Road. What made the Beatles so good. What about their sound was so revolutionary? For me the lyrics just elicit some sort of emotion that few other artists can.

For our parent's generation it was the fact that they were revolutionary.

For our generation it is the fact that they belong from our parent's generation.

What did the Beatles do with their music/lyrics that no one had done before them?

My friends were trying to debate that if you were stuck on an island, would you rather have every beatles album or every radiohead album. They said that they would go with Radiohead since that is from our generation and speaks more to them, but I just can't justify passing up the beatles for Radiohead

Its hard to say.. There sound and lyrics and band members were just a great combo that seemed to work together so well. The Beatles are still one of my favorite bands. There pop rock sound they have is unbeatable, and there repetitive sound is just really easy to listen to and sing to.

I think its just a love hate thing, back then though there was nothing that sounded so good that made you want to get up and dance.. Its hard to explain though try making your parents listen to your music today its to hard to explain how its good to you.. It just sounds cool.. Emotion is a big thing.. if it can make you feel someway then the music can really effect you.

i'd definitely choose every radiohead album. each album is so different so I wouldn't be stuck with just one sound. don't get me wrong, i love the beatles, but i would definitely rather listen to radiohead than them.

I don't believe that for one second. Beatles lyrics reaches everyone, no matter what generation it is. That is what made them so revolutionary.
