Just hear it for the first time? Just about anything by the Beatles can cause that reaction.

Excellent album. I am blown away by it. This weekend I got a bootleg called "The Last Year" which is demos and outtakes from Abbey Road. Funny to hear Paul sing "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" and John cracking up in the middle of "Come Together".

I want you is just downright amazing

I used to hear "come together" and "something" on the radio quite a bit but I never knew it was the Beatles. Right now I'm on track 8 "because" the vocals are really good.

Did you hear that allposters.com or one of them sells a poster of the cover but with the cigarette edited out of Paul McCartney's hand?

Because is John/Paul/George and they are all triple-tracked, so in essesnce you are hearing 9 voices. Very very cool. :D

I grew up listening to soul and jazz (a whole lot of jazz) so basically rock is like a fresh experience for me. Today I went to Towers and picked up:

Beatles - Abbey Road
Beatles - Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart Band
Blood Sweat and Tears - Child Is Father To Man
John McLaughlin - Electric Guitarist
Cream - Disraeli Gears
Sanatan - III

I'll probably play Sgt. Peppers next. I kinda like BST but Al Kooper must REALLY like horns because thats all you hear on their first album

if you like that type of music, try "Madman Across the Water" by Elton John. Circa 1971. Nothing like you would imagine.

Yeah, that's a pretty good indoctrination to rock :D Check out Hendrix in the near future too.

What soul and jazz do you like?
