I hope this hasn't been posted already, but here goes:

Coalition makes concession on anti-piracy technology

Intel apperntly claims this copy protection scheme is intended only for removeable media, I hope they are right, IBM seems less specific. But in any case, they are apperently allowing at the least that users can turn it off for hard drives.

hmm, well if users could turn it off why would they want a hard drive with that technology in the first place? bye bye antipiracy silliness.
