My son and I showed up for first-showing matinees both yesterday and today, which were both sold out. We finally saw it this afternoon at non rock-bottom prices.

It may go higher. On Saturday, they put a first estimate for Saturday out then raised that almost 10 million. It will be interesting to see the total.

Worldwide estimate sits at $641 million for the first ten days (It opened in several markets outside of the US a week earlier.)

I'm curious how much they have spent on Advertising, looking forward to seeing it

Can't stand movies based on comic books or super heroes. I have zero interest.

I have a few hundred Avengers comic books in storage. They were my favorites, growing up. But I have to be honest, aside from the prospect of Scarlett J in that getup, I have so little desire to see this movie that it surprises me.

Going to be a big year for movies. Already one box office record. Batman: DKR and Prometheus haven't even been released yet.

I was a Marvel fanboy growing up, didnt care for DC. But I am much more looking forward to the final Dark Knight movie.

I do want to see Scarlett in skin tight leather though. Will have to rent just for that.

PS -I assume by "I would do terrible things to" her, you mean, accidentally hit her thigh and end up staining her dress?

I'd give her at least 29 of the most disappointing seconds of her life.

Thanks to Hollywood Accounting, the movie will never make a profit.

Still haven't decided if I want to see it or not. Loved Iron Man (1 & 2) and Thor, but hated Captain America and Hulk.

Kind of surprised given the flops that certain superhero movies have been lately. But I guess you throw in Iron Man stuff and a few others, it'll work. ScarJo doesn't hurt.
