From this thread

The first order of business is getting an official members list, simply post in this thread letting us know you want to join and I will add you. Remember, no obligation to participate every month, but we just need something on paper (feel free to add something in your sig if you want).

Second we need suggestions for our first book, when we get enough I will make a poll and we will vote.

Thanks :)

My suggestion is to start with something like a classic: The Picture of Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde , a nice easy, hopefully entertaining book from the reviews I have read. to start us off. Of course this is only a suggestion. Eventually we will do theme months.

I'm in - as long as I can get the books from my local library. I'll check out the book if it's available this weekend. :)

ah ok. well, the summary looked interesting enough for me and since im looking to build up my bookshelf it wouldnt hurt to give this one a shot. of course a part of me hopes it does get picked as im already reading 2 other books right now and if we didnt go with this one 4 books could be a bit much. perhaps not.

Don't worry about it, we may set a date until we start the next book, but if for some reason you don't get it finished in time you can still participate in the thread we make until it gets archived.

I'm in, but I'm gonna skip "classic month." I already went through high school once.

I'm in, I usually read SciFi and Fantasy. I can read almost anything as long as it's a good story. :)

Ahh man I remember Fairwell To Arms, Hemingway is a master with words, you can really see how he used to revise that stuff a couple hundred times to make it into a master piece. Particurarily the description of the (swiss?) lake and surrounding trees of the lodge they staid at after he deserted.

Can't participate but I think it's a cool idea. Here's a bump.

I'm down. I've been wanting to get back into reading so this will be a good opportunity for me. :)

FYI. That was one of the worst books I have ever read. If you enjoy a bunch of homosexuals hanging out at an Opium den, you will love it.
