The Athlon has absolutely no compatibility issues with AutoCAD, right?

None, right? Someone wants me to build a AutoCAD workstation for them, and that is one of their concerns. I don't think it does, but I don't know for sure, so I thought I'd ask.

Haven't had any problem with ACAD2000 on a Atholon 550 or a Duron 600 @ 850.

Common sense would dictate that it will work just fine, as it's still an x86 processor.

Yeah, I know, but I wanted to make sure. He said that in the passed, AMD processors have had compatibility issues, and wanted to be assured that this isn't the case anymore.

Thanks for the replies.

Back in high school we had an AMD 486 DX 100 (maybe it was a 66) running the latest version of auto-cad (at that time). It ran SLOW but it ran.

Sorry my post sounded kinda arrogant. Didn't mean for it to sound like that.

Nah, thanks for the input. :) I think he's just being worrysome, because if I remember right, he had an Am5x86/133 before he upgraded to his aging Celeron 333A..

Man, He's not going to know what to do with a Thunderbird 800.. ;) He's goin to love it.
