For the bombing run a nice tip I picked up on the PTR is that you can put the bomb on a bar and spam the button on your keyboard and click your mouse fast. You will easily get 2-3 bombs most of the time going off even with the cooldown. Also remember that the kill shot doesn't matter - you have to get the tap. I've been able to clear it all in one run quite often.

Also, Brutallus hits like a truck. While there isn't much in the way of moving/strategy involved, it's still a really demanding fight and it will be nice to get him tonight.

My brother was telling me how he found the crits quite nice on fire destro even before the patch . One of his reasons that he mentioned for doing it was in some 5-mans, they typically had mages in the group, so using Curse of the Elements rather than Curse of Shadow. Not exactly necessary for raiding though and contra if you end up having another lock (affli or shadow dest) or a shadow priest.

I'd imagine that Shadow has a benefit in "lower end" raids because of the lack of immunity in any of the bosses to shadow magic. To my knowledge, the only boss with immunity should be Entropius in the Sunwell (second to last boss, so I don't think it's a huge issue :p).

Speaking of Brutalus, I've been watching the video of SK Gaming vs Brutalus (I like the music ) and it seems fairly straight-forward, although it does look like they have at least one off-tank that eats some sort of move as he doesn't seem to be tanking it for long.

Ahh reading wowhead I see this...

Meteor Slash: 20,000 fire damage. Splits evenly between three targets; thus three tanks will be needed. Cannot be dodged, parried, or blocked. Leaves a debuff increasing fire damage taken by 50%. Similar to Mother Shahraz's Saber Lash.

there isnt much in high end raids that immune to shadow, most guilds run 3-4 locks, normally 3 destro and 1 aff and have all the curses out anyway, the aff lock will handle shadows because hes speced for 3% more damage, then the destro locks take care of elements, and recklesness,

the bonus shadow gets from Shadow priests is so large that shadow still wins out in raids, unless you raid with 0 SPs which would just be dumb, we normally have 2

I wonder if that will change on Mu'ru/Entropius. He is a huge shadow dude and I'm not sure if Blizzard makes him immune to Shadow like other shadow elementals are.

Sigh... just as I thought. After being well on our way with phase 4 on Kael on our first night of attempts Monday night, 2.4 comes out and sure enough they want to drop him immediately...

Even though we've already got 4 bosses down in MH and BT I can't help but not feel excited...

#!$@ Blizzard and their attunement nerfs. Grrr just another week would have been enough time.

Anyone on Exodar (A) have room for a holy pally with ~2300 +healing and 3k flash crits in their Kael run so I can finish Vials of Eternity?

Quick question:

Now that my guild has shown that we can do 25 mans, can we move onto SSC already? Or do we need to farm Gruul for a few weeks first?

If everyone is epic'ed out in kara/badge gear you can go straight for SSC. The shield and the T4 in Gruuls is helpful for tanks and healers.

Tanks should be working on frost/nature sets and designate a warlock to start working on fire/stam gear.

Yeah I'd say you could do SSC trash w/o too many problems and probably skip Hydross for now until you are ready and be able to kill The Lurker Below.

You might be best asking on your realm forum, but your guild might not like this.

Fire resist? I'm the guilds main warlock, so it would probably be me.

I'm on RR and I wasn't having any issues. I think my latency may've been a bit higher than normal yesterday, but I didn't notice lag so I had no real complaints.

its only happening to those playing on servers hosted in the LA data center, happenes to people in CA in LA on TWC playing on those servers as well as people from all over the country, its an issue with one of AT&Ts backbone routers or something that TWC feeds into

100s of threads about it, blizz is aware of it says they are working on it, many people have posted traces and the ping spike happens on the same hop for everyone same addy, some people cant connect at all

my ping went from 120 ish to 600 on average, i spiked over 1k on RoS, that was interesting as i almost killed myself more then once during deadens because of the lag i wouldent see how much damage my SBs were doing till the next one was allready airborn

Here?s my routine for doing Shattered Sun Offensive dailies (my server is currently on phase 2):

  • Start off in Shatt and get the four dailies from there (Gaining the Advantage, Mana Cells, Sunfury Attack Plans, and The Multiphase Survey).

Fly to Throne of Kil?jaeden and do the two quests there ? they?re ways easier now and take no more than 10-20 minutes. Remember to stand near/help other people when they?re killing elementals, it?ll help your elemental grows too.

Fly north directly from Throne of Kil?jaeden to reach the nearest Sunfury camp in Netherstorm. Kill the Sunfury blood elves for their plans. 10-20 minutes depending on luck.

Fly to Bash?ir Landing and kill the ethereals there for phase device, use the device and collect the mana cells. 10-20 minutes depending on luck.

Fly to Nagrand, put on your goggles and collect 6 Multiphase Readings on those fiery things floating around Oshu'gun. 10 minutes.

Hopefully you?d have found enough mining or herbalist nodes during your fly around to collect 8 Nether Residues for Gaining the Advantage. On my warrior (mining) this quest is pain and sometime I just skip it, but on my Rogue (skinning), I just kill those zebras in Nagrand real quick after collecting the multiphase reading.

Fly back to Shatt for the rewards and take the portal to the isles and do the dailies there. They?re all very easy and shouldn?t take more than 30 minutes to do them all. Bombing runs are very easy to complete if you?re in a group (make sure to take off at the same time), but don?t spend more than a few minutes looking for group since you can solo it in two fly arounds.

If his guild isn't running it anymore (which it seems like), why would they care, as long as it doesn't interfere with a regular raid night...

Some leaders are really anal about this stuff. I remember back when I used to raid, our overall leader would not allow you to raid with anyone else other than your group no matter what. Was rather overbearing if you ask me.

Wouldn't be a problem with the guild, my intention to kill Kael is clearly known. I'm sure they would encourage it just so I'd be happy just to have my title/ring and shut up about Kael'thas in o-chat ;) One kill for 25 of the best rings in the game is a no brainer...

The officer core is tight and good friends, the decision to skip Kael and proceed to Hyjal/BT thanks to 2.4 is really the first thing that some of us have disagreed on...

I keep saying we should kill him for the progression mark and get it over with because we succeeded in a perfect phase 4 transition at the end of our first and only night. Another week and we'd have had him.

I see it as earning our place and not accepting handouts, they see it as being pointless to waste time on Kael when the bosses of MH/BT are so easy and drop infinitely better loot, and that is a valid point.

But many of us aren't in it for the loot, for me it's all about the group pics in front of dead bodies for the boss morgue aka guild website.

*shrug*

there are a few reasons you should kill him

1) to get rings, they are very nice and im betting even the friendly one is better then what most people have
2) really good loot that will last till end bosses of the next 2 instances

Isn't the BT neck also good for SR?

And stupid Blizzard can't keep their servers up... was right at Kael in MagT when the server went down =\. Worst off, I died 6 times (PMC + WM ftw) and didn't get the head for the quest =(.

EDIT:

In an interesting piece of news, Nihilum quits WOW:

http://nihilum.mousesports.com/en/news/536,xxxx/

Kind of expected since they haven't even been doing PVE content :p.

No idea why, but my brother keeps doing it every day even after he got his Timbal's >_>. I'm more annoyed that I kept dying than anything... I might have been able to keep myself alive at one of the times, but definitely not in most unless I ran out of LOS constantly. The druid really needed to swipe more :p.

Think about it, what do you spend your time doing? I sure as hell don't want to be spending my playtime doing repetitive tasks all day. I have 3 70s and know what you're talking about but I refuse to do just dailies.

Well, I guess if you're going for rep, have fun. THat's not at all about time-wasting grinding... ;)
