If by core game play you mean you go around and shoot people then yes your right but that's also the point of any FPS. BC2 has alot more features than any BF game that has come before it, some features are the same but the ones that are have been changed in some way shape or form. If thats the only excuse you have then fine, you can leave now.

i mean the same style of play, the same crappy weapon accuracy, the same squads, being able to use vehicles, large maps, same shitty interface, etc.

sure it adds some new stuff but thats what pretty much all games in a series do.

you guys keep talking about destroying buildings but it doesn't add that much difference to the game. it takes a good bit firepower to level a building and even if thats the case, the people inside are going to leave if they notice thats what you're doing. oh no, so that wall i was behind got blown up, i'll just go behind another wall...so game changing!!

I also don't understand why you guys keep talking about MW2 like it's my favorite game or something. It's far from it but the way you guys troll every mw2 thread is just as ridiculous as me supposedly trolling every bc2 thread. i've only posted negative comments in 2 bc2 threads that i can recall, this one and the one where people posted their user names (and i think that one only had 1 or 2 comments).

i guess it's just the same old forum double standard. You guys can complain about a game you don't like but when someone else tries to complain about a game you like, oh no way, jose.

Its a Battlefield game, what did you expect? Are you mad because you can't hit a guy 300 yards away with an assult rifle like you can do "other" FPS games? I hate to tell you but the BF series is more life like than the "other" game is if you've ever shot an assault rifle. And FYI they did away with planes, the maps are smaller and there are no more 64 person servers. So right there are a bunch of changes from BF2.

The problem everyone has with you is your keep harping on EVERYTHING, any time someone says something there you are to "insert smart ass comment here". Have you actually played for more than 5 minutes? You can annihilate people's cover, bring buildings down on top of objectives, etc. Destructible environment = ever changing map flow.

I don't deny that I suck at this game because it's terrible.

Math FAIL

'Suck' is a relative term, not an absolute term. You can't say you suck at this game because the game is terrible, since your suck-ness is measured against other players, not the game itself. For every kill there is a death, and vice versa (suicides aside). Your 0.5 K/D ratio is symbiotic with someone else's 1.5 K/D ratio (a simplified example, but you [should] get the point).

And weapon accuracy is fine. You can't just lay into the trigger like you can in MW2. In fact, BC2's weapons feel very COD4esque to me: short bursts FTW, and if you're not using the sights, of course you can't hit the broad side of a barn. And since we just can't seem to break away from the MW2 comparison, let me tell you this: BC2 counts ALL of my bullets, EVERY TIME. MW2 is notorious for not registering hits until the 3rd or 4th shot.

Shitty interface? No argument there. Thankfully I play games for the gameplay, not their interfaces. I bet you were one of those people who got all bent out of shape because UT2kx didn't have UWindows.

If it's a Logitech mouse try launching Setpoint as admin, I had to do this to bind my extra mouse buttons. Yet another basic programming fail by the BC2 team.

Its funny, but I finally got to play on the ATOT server after like a week and most of the time it was like 2v3, and at most 4v5. I ain't complaining though, as I averaged like 2500 points and got the UMP45. Only 1 weapon to go before I unlock all the class based weapons, and two ranks to go to get the G3. Then I can relax and actually play the game or go back to MAG if anyone is still playing it.

If funny that I spend all this time grinding away to unlock all the weapons, but theres only a couple that I use. They should have had like a shooting range were you could try out all the weapons so you know when you can stop progressing in a particular class. I thought the UMP-45 was worth the time but I dont like it as much as the UZI or AK. I could have spent that time getting the M16.

meh, whatever. if the game mechanics are bad then I can't do well. I realize you can't just lay into the trigger. there hasn't been a game in a while that allows you to do that, but at point blank range, it should work.

i don't get bent out of shape over that part. I didn't even play UT online.

You've only played 4 hours, give the game a chance. It becomes much less frustrating to play when you're not as bad. I highly recommend Rush mode, it doesn't feel like you're constantly surrounded so in my opinion it's less frustrating because you're not constantly being shot from behind.

Also have a go at squad deathmatch and then try to claim that the game is just like BF2. It's an entirely different dynamic that works very well.

Edit - and besides, you don't suck as much as you think. Your K/D is better than mine,

That's what I'm taking issue with: you can't just arbitrarily link (what you think are) bad game mechanics with your frustration. Sounds like nothing more than excuses to me. You haven't quite figured out what works in this game, so you try to do what you've had success with in other games.

When the results don't satisfy you, you chalk it all up to "bad game mechanics".

I haven't had a game lag on me on either system (360, PC), bullets don't magically follow me around corners like they do in MW2, and all of my shots count. From a mechanics standpoint, those are the only discernible differences between MW2 and BC2 in my experience.

That is a pretty cool website! I FINALLY got the first Assault unlock last night. I had been spending the majority of my time on the Recon class...

Do they have any other sites that have each class broken down similar to the sites for BF2 did?

I understand that you guys have been taking it up the pooper from Dice for a while so your buttholes are all loose and it doesn't hurt so much, but for those of us new to the series it's frustrating and down right insulting that they would release a game in this state.

The game itself, when I can actually play it, is very good.

Gotcha. Meh I agree with you with all of the shit with the server browser and little things such as the UI problems. Main reason why Im not so mad is that I have been able to get into games and have been able to put in a lot of hours in a relatively short time.

Welcome to the Battlefield experience! At its worst its usually better than other games in the genre. BFBC2 was somewhat of a step down from BF2 patched, but its still pretty good.

I would have to agree...it still has a way to go...but overall I am liking the direction...

I think by far the destructible environments is the most fun for me...I always hated having someone hide behind a window / wall / tree in BF2...unload and get nothing...

Now you can literally shoot through most objects outside of concrete walls and get some sort of hit.

Just last night...two guys ran behind a tin wall when I was shooting at a distance...with a sniper rifle...I couldn't see either of them...but I knew they didn't move from behind the tin wall.

Took a shot where I thought one of them would be sitting...register a hit...then a kill...then a marksman bonus...then a double kill bonus...I just laughed...got two with one shot...without seeing them behind a tin wall...

I can live with a shitty server browser that I have to let spin for 3-5 minutes and cancel to get a server listing and some other bugs...the game play is good...and it seems at least initially to me that once you start to get better weapons / unlocks the game becomes a little easier to work with...the initial guns Suck my ass IMO...maybe that is all in my head but it seems a little nicer with some of the unlocked weapons.
