Installed on both my laptop and desktop during the first half of the football games today. Don't know if the beta is really worth it since the game is nearly finished. Doubt a lot will change.

Finished the DL in just over 12 minutes. I remember back in the day where it would take DAYS to download something this large.

Must be a sign of how consolized BF4 will be :awe:

You'd be surprised... They have quite some time to alter things.

Not if it's releasing in 30 days. Tweaks and small improvements is about all at this point. Look at the time real betas have and how much changes at this point.

I'm sure the actual game will be much larger.

By the way, the pre-load is a 64-bit application - I'm looking forward to seeing whether it takes advantage of more than 2GB of system RAM.

It depends on how complete the game is currently, but 30 days is enough to change a bit. I expect it's a fairly complete package since it's not a revamp from BF3, so they could change a number of small things with major impact based on beta. Or not. ;)

Anyone know how much extra EA is charging game servers for slots ? I read they charging quite a bit more than BF3 per slot and limiting game server providers. This extra cost is for their back-end maintenance, like customers aren't paying enough already.

Right, but I mean, it's not going to go up after beta is open? Like, regular and DD aren't going to go from $60 and $70 to $70 and $80?

I don't think the price will go up, but you will lose the China rising DLC, but that but that makes no difference if you buy Premium.

The longer you wait the better chance you have of getting it cheaply.

Yeah , EA is limiting the allocation of keys , just like GMG only got a certain amount of keys freakin EA.

I feel strongly that the customers that bought BF3 premium should be "entitled" to some discount. BS EA..

help.EA.com - BATTLEFIELD 4 BETA INFORMATION

rtaImage

The Battlefield 4 Beta is a chance for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 players not only to get an early glimpse of Battlefield 4, but also for us to run some tests and make some changes in preparation for when Battlefield 4 goes live October 29th.
  • The beta is an early, test version of Battlefield 4. Players should expect to run into in-game bugs, connection problems, and other common beta issues.
  • If you run into a problem, report it on the beta forums so we can work it out!
rtaImage

The beta will be open to all comers, on all platforms, in every language the full game will be released in.
  • Earn Battepacks containing a combination of new weapon accessories, dog tags, knives, XP boosts and other customization options to load out your soldier.
  • Continue the fight in the Siege of Shanghai, complete with full Levelution in both large and small Conquest modes, as well as Domination.
[*]Commander Mode will be unavailable during the beta, but lucky, eagle-eyed players might catch a glimpse of DICE employees as Commanders on live servers.

Downloading slow for origin for me. Only 1.5mb/s. That's pretty much I get from steam.

Usually I get 2.5 from origin.

Very nice. Can't wait til Tuesday.
